Steve here! Wanted to let you know that I’ve written a short play, Hephaestus and Hestia, which I’m premiering the evening of September 18th as part of the Poetry Project’s “Alien and Ordinary: A Poets' Theatre Symposium.” It’s about infidelity, and I would say it’s kind of a cross between The Merry Wives of Windsor and Brief Encounter. I’m also toying with the idea of releasing it to paid subscribers of this mailing list. . .
It’s part of a variety show hosted by Morgan Bassichis, which also features Jess Barbagallo, Nazareth Hassan, Kite, The Illustrious Pearl, Fargo Nissim Tbakhi, and Tony Torn! So I’m obviously very excited. And the rest of the symposium will see the talents of Nile Harris, Bassem Saad, Sanja Grozdanić, Amelia Bande, and Charlene Incarnate—I mean, what more could you want.
Hope to see you there! And if you don’t live in New York, maybe you're interested in paying a nominal fee to receive a strange assortment of Steve stuff in the future, the way people do on Substack?
